At Speak & Spell Therapy, all services are individualized to support each client's strengths, needs, and communication goals. Therapy is available for toddlers, children, teens, and adults.

Speech Therapy
Speech Therapy supports individuals who have difficulty producing sounds clearly or consistently. This may include sound substitutions, omissions, distortions, or patterns that impact overall intelligibility. Therapy focuses on accurate sound production, building awareness of where and how sounds are made, and generalizing clear speech into words, phrases, and everyday conversation.
Common areas addressed:
Articulation errors
Phonological processes (e.g., fronting, stopping, cluster reduction)
Difficulty being understood
Oral-motor sequencing for speech clarity
Language Therapy
Language Therapy supports individuals who have difficulty understanding or using language effectively. Therapy targets the building blocks of communication, helping clients follow direction, express ideas, expand vocabulary, form complete sentences, and participate in meaningful conversations.
Common areas addressed:
Receptive language (understanding)
Expressive language (using language)
Grammar and sentence building
Vocabulary expansion and word retrieval
Narrative skills and storytelling
WH-questions and comprehension
Literacy & Phonological Awareness Support
Literacy support focuses on developing strong reading and foundational literacy skills by strengthening the connection between speech, language, and print. Therapy builds phonological awareness, decoding, fluency, comprehension, and written expression so clients can become confident and independent readers and writers.
Common areas addressed:
Phonological and phonemic awareness
Letter-sound knowledge and decoding
Early reading fluency
Reading comprehension strategies
Retelling, sequencing, and summarizing
Early writing and spelling foundations
Early Childhood Communication
Early Childhood communication services support toddlers and preschool-aged children as they develop the essential skills needed for expressive and receptive communication. Therapy is play-based, relationship-centered, and designed to fit naturally into a young child's world.
Common areas addressed:
First words and vocabulary growth
Joint attention and turn-taking
Gestures and nonverbal communication
Following simple directions
Combining words into phrases and early sentences
Play skills that support communication
AAC Support
AAC services support individuals who use, or may benefit from, augmentative and alternative communication. Therapy focuses on teaching functional communication using symbols, pictures, speech generating devices, or multimodal strategies. Families and teams are closely supported to ensure successful use across home, school, and community settings.
Common areas addressed:
AAC evaluations and system recommendations
Device setup, programming, and customization
Teaching core and fringe vocabulary
Modeling and communication partner support
Expanding expressive communication through AAC
Training for caregivers, educators, and teams
Cognitive Therapy
Cognitive Therapy supports individuals whose thinking, learning, or communication is affected by cognitive or neurological challenges. Therapy focuses on strengthening executive functioning, memory, attention, reasoning, and functional communication skills to support success at home, in school, at work, and in daily routines.
Common areas addressed:
Attention, concentration, and working memory
Planning, organization, and task initiation
Flexible thinking and problem-solving
Processing speed and reasoning
Communication impacted by TBI, stroke, concussion, ADHD, autism, or dementia
Functional skills for independence and safety
Consultation & Collaboration
Consultative services are available for families, caregivers, school teams, and other professionals. This service helps ensure communication strategies are understood, supported, and consistent across all environments.
Consultation may include:
Reviewing evaluations or progress
Providing home strategies
Educator or caregiver coaching
Attendance at team meetings
AAC training or support
Payment Information
Speak & Spell Therapy is a private pay practice. Payment is due at the time of service via cash or electronic payment.
Operating as a private pay practice allows me to provide therapy that is fully individualized and guided by clinical need, not insurance limitation. Insurance companies often restrict how often a client can be seen, which goals can be addressed, and how long therapy can continue. By remaining private pay, I'm able to offer the frequency, duration, and type of therapy that best supports each client's progress.
Cancellation Policy
If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please provide at least 24 hours' notice. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice or no-shows will be subject to a $50 fee. Frequent cancellations may result in the loss of a recurring therapy time slot.
I understand that life happens, and communication is key. Please reach out as soon as possible if you anticipate needing to adjust your scheduled session.
Teletherapy Policy
For virtual sessions, please log in on time using the secure link provided. If you have not logged in within 5 minutes, a reminder email will be sent. After 10 minutes of no response or login, the session will be considered a no-show and the $50 fee will apply.
To ensure the best experience, please participate from a quiet, well-lit space while seated at a table or desk. A parent, caregiver, or support person is welcome to be nearby when appropriate.
If a session begins from a car, public space, or noisy environment, the session may be ended early and billed at the full session rate.
