How Speak & Spell Came to Be

Speak & Spell Therapy was created from my passion for helping individuals find their voice and build confidence in communication. The name "Speak & Spell" reflects the two areas that are at the heart of my work: speech and language for communication, and literacy for learning and self-expression. The "Speak" represents communication in all its forms, including talking, listening, understanding, and connecting. Communication is connection, and it is at the core of everything we do. It is how we build relationships, share ideas, ask questions, learn from one another, and express who we are. The "Spell" represents my deep love for literacy. Literacy is the foundation for learning and independence. It empowers us to access information, tell our stories, and engage fully in the world around us. It is also where speech and language come to life on the page, linking what we say to what we read and write. 

After years of working in the public school system, I envisioned a space where communication and literacy could grow together in a more personalized and flexible setting. Speak & Spell Therapy was built to offer that space, one where clients receive individualized support, where families feel connected and informed, and where every step forward is recognized and valued.
